aromatic atmosphere

It was smelling mighty fine around here yesterday. I had homemade soup going in the crock pot all afternoon, using a soup bone from the cow we got this fall. And Winn made bread from scratch. Sajak walked around drooling all day.

Wow!!! How does Winn make those loaves look so good? Impressive!!! What kind of soup? I'm always looking for new soup recipes, cuz I don't have many. Actually only 2 to be exact-one from Andrea and Ben and one from my mom. If it's a secret recipe, I'll understand :)

That bread looks delish! I love the smell of fresh bread...whether sweet or savory. I think the first freshly baked piece is the best: warm and covered in butter.

No secret recipes here, but I'm not sure what all I put in there! Potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic cloves, beef broth, and a bunch of leftover veggies from the fridge...carrots, onion, etc.

Yep, Jen, the first is definitely the best...and LOTS of butter! :)

And it was the very yummiest soup and bread that I've ever had! And for dessert chocolate cake! Delicious!
